Rube Goldberg reflection
For the Rube Goldberg project my group made a cup of tea. We started out by making a blue print. Once we finished we gather materials and started putting the machine together. It was very difficult to put the projects together. When things would move and every thing would fall down. It was also irritating when you couldn’t find something you need or if there wasn’t enough. With all the struggles I really enjoyed my group.
After we finished drawing out our blue print we had to figure out how to take them from paper to reality. Our plans weren’t working out the way we imagined so we had to completely rebuild our project. We originally had a sand bag knocking over the kettle but I didn’t work so we changed it so that it was sitting on a ballon. In the beginning we wanted to add cream and sugar but that was too difficult.
On the day of the convention we had already tested our machine and we knew it worked. We had all of the required simple machines in it. Pulley, It was on a stand and we used it to pull the tea bag out of the water. Lever, The mouse trap which was used to pop the ballon. Wheel and Axel, the car which was used to knock the tea bag into the hot water. Incline plane, which was a ramp that a ball rolled down. We were the first one to go so we had the most time to set up, which I think worked out well. The only thing that was irritating about setting up was that we had a ton of dominoes that were hard to set up.
Overall I think our project went very well. My group never really fought about anything. I never got off track I always had something to do. I was very happy with the out come off the project and recommend this project to classes in the future.
