Civics Project Reflections
For humanities our class did a project on United States civics. My group decided to have a scripted debate between Meg Whitman and Jerry Brown. First we wrote the script. We made each major prop a question asking whether or not the candidates support it and then we added some other issues like gay marriage, death penalty and abortion. We researched our candidates and used their real opinions.
Our group picked to have debate because it wasn’t too difficult and it displayed a lot of information. At first I was worried that our project wasn’t going to get finished and I was going to get really stressed out. As soon as we finished the script and started filming I was feeling more confident about the project. In the ending of the project I didn’t feel like I got as much support from my group as I would have liked. By this I mean I asked not to have the movie on my computer because I always have the movie on my computer and I knew I was going to have to do all the work over the weekend.
I liked how the overall final project turned out. Though getting to the final project was little rough. I didn’t feel like we had enough time to put together. In the past we had much more then two weeks for a project. I felt like I could have done a lot more if we had more project time. Though I did like that we devoted a lot of humanities class time for the project.
I think that our project could have been a bit more challenging. I didn’t want to do anything way to complicated incase we ran out of time and didn’t finish. I liked my group though, I liked that it was different group of people then I would usually work with. I wish that we had a bit more time to put the project together because then we could have done something more extravagant. Hopefully next project we will have a bit more time.
